John grew up in the small town of Woodbridge, which is very similar to the village of Haliburton today. His father was the town Lawyer, predominantly working in Real Estate. He taught John at a very young age, "There are no shortcuts when dealing in Real Estate". Today that voice still registers with John as a realtor. You represent the best interests of your clients; it's all about protecting those interests.
For John, Cottaging started at the age of 5 at a family cottage on Lake of Bays. In 1987, John and his wife discovered Haliburton. They purchased their first Lakefront Lot and, acting as their own General Contractor, built their first cottage. With two young children to follow, they wanted to share the dream and pass the memories on to them. They rented with one of Ontario's most reputable vacation rental agencies when not in use. After developing a solid clientele, they were selected by the agency as owners to be interviewed by HGTV.
In a long career with Bell Canada, John was able to engage his interest in working and helping others. First in a technical manner and later as a human relation resource.
Along the way, his interest in cottage real estate developed into working for others and himself. John has developed a number of Lakefront lots over the years, obtaining the required permits in preparation for building. John is a certified equipment operator and has worked with and for many local Haliburton Contractors.
John's hobbies are many, but woodworking, from furniture to building, have been a dominant force in what what he does. His current project is the Lakeside Log Cottage. Aerial Photography is an effective marketing tool. He is a licensed drone pilot with Transport Canada, utilizing his drone in the pre-purchasing and final marketing stages when needed.
Over the past few years, John has watched Ball Real Estate develop into a trustworthy Boutique agency. With its sales force to its advertising techniques, it has a very personal feel. John is excited to become part of this team. John feels the best way to represent a client is to have the patience to listen.
